How to filter a solution to selectively exclude information from being collected for documentation and Lineage Analysis.
You can disable types of objects or specific pieces of information within each of your data sources of a solution from being collected as you see fit at any time. If you wish to enable these same items in the future, you can follow the same steps and enable them.
*Before filtering, keep in mind that DOC xPress only gathers metadata and never actual data. Filtering your data sources will alter the generated documentation as well as what information is presented in Lineage Analysis.
From your solution, highlight the data source that holds the information you wish to filter, then click edit.
From the edit solution item window, select 'Edit Filter' on the bottom right.
This is the first of two filters. This initial filter is a broad scope and you can choose to exclude a type of object. To exclude specific piece of data within your data sources (i.e. excluding a specific table from a SQL Server or a specific package from a group of packages) proceed to the second filter.
On the next filter, you can selectively exclude specific pieces of information from being included in your documentation and Lineage Analysis. Simply drill into the data source to the item in question and uncheck the item in question. As seen below, you can exclude an entire group of items or specific items within a group (comparable to folders or files within folders).
