You may run into the following warning message when attempting to install or uninstall the Workbench Client.
This is sometimes caused by a sync and cache issue in the customer environment when the online and offline folders fail to be fully synchronized.
WARNING: This method or task contains steps that will modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly, and therefore this is to be used at your own risk and Pragmatic Works is not responsible for any issues that arise from doing the following changes. Please contact your organization’s desktop support group if you are uncomfortable making these modifications yourself.
Please review the steps in the Microsoft article below which references the step-by-step process that you need to follow. Note all of the cautions and warnings, specifically around any files/folders that have not been fully synchronized, creating a backup of your Registry, etc.
The linked article expands on the manual steps as well as a Command Prompt method, based on your personal preference.
Once completed, this will resolve the issue and will allow you to view a completely clean install folder, add/delete folders, and install the latest version of Workbench without any additional issues.
