If you have a Server that is a shared box, and another site is using Port 80 (which is the default port number we use for Workbench Server) then you can alter the port used by adding a specific port number to the Workbench Server URL in the installer as shown below. Please note that you must ensure that the port bindings in IIS are correct after installation (step 2 below).
Step 1: Update the Workbench Server URL during the installation as shown below. Replace “ABBOTT” and “8080” with your specific ServerName of the box that you are installing Workbench Server* and PortNumber. (*Important Note: You must NOT change the URL other than adding a port number. Customizing the URL needs to be done after successful installation is completed)
Step 2: Verify Port Bindings are set up correctly in IIS
This applies to Microsoft Internet Information Services versions 7.0 – 10.0.
- Open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager. (Windows button and type “IIS”)
- Select the Web site that you wish to configure.
c. In the Action pane, click Bindings.
d. Click Add to add a new site binding, or click Edit to change an existing binding.
e. Click OK to apply the changes.
